Seher Hone Ko Hai Centers a Mother–Daughter Fight for Freedom. 

Seher Hone Ko Hai highlights the story of a Muslim mother and daughter who challenge generational patriarchy and social oppression. The show focuses on a mother’s determination to secure education and freedom for her daughter, opportunities that society once denied her.

Kausar brings her sixteen-year-old daughter Seher to Lucknow to give her the independence she never experienced herself. However, Seher’s father, Parvez, strongly opposes this decision and insists on marrying her to Mahid, the heir of the influential Mufti family. 

As Seher gradually learns to assert her dreams and desires, Mahid enters her life. Although privilege surrounds him, he carries deep emotional wounds shaped by the same patriarchal system.

Together, Kausar and Seher begin a quiet but determined rebellion, actively resisting social restrictions and attempting to break free from the cage imposed upon them.

The show stars Mahhi Vij as Kausar, Rishita Kothari as Seher, and Parth Samthaan as Mahid, alongside Vaquar Shaikh as Parvez, Apurva Agnihotri as Dr. Farid, and Deepak Qazir as Osmaan.

 The narrative offers a distinct portrayal of Muslim lives, setting itself apart from earlier television shows with a similar backdrop.

Kausar’s character serves as a tribute to the silent strength and resilience of mothers. Seher represents a new generation of young girls shaped and often restricted by societal expectations. Mahid exposes the hidden emotional wounds patriarchy inflicts, while Parvez embodies its rigid and oppressive nature.

Colors TV airs Seher Hone Ko Hai from 2 December 2025 onward, every Monday to Friday at 10 PM. Jio Hotstar also releases the show simultaneously through OTTplay Premium.
