Indian test and ODI captain, Shubman Gill finals break his silence after getting dropped out from the World Cup t20I squad.

Team Indian ODI Captain Shubman Gill, opened up for the first time after the exclusion from the upcoming squad of T20I world cup. He wished India team good luck, and says that he respects the decision of selectors. Shubman Gill hadn’t enjoy short ball format much. Gill’s bad form and repetitive failures led team management to drop him from the squad of T20I World Cup and New Zealand series.

“I respect the selectors’ decision. All the best to the team for the T20I World Cup,” he told reporters.

“I am where I have to be and whatever is written in my destiny no one can take that from me. A player always believes he will try his best for the country and the selectors have taken their decision,” he added.

Tilak Varma’s sudden surgery, put BCCI into a big concern regarding his presence in World Cup T20I. According to reports, Tilak Varma recovery span can be 3 – 4 weeks. World Cup is beginning from 7th of February, and Indian is facing USA same day, his participation in World Cup is subjected to the fitness clearance.

Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad or Devdutt Padikkal ?

Tilak is already ruled out of three T20I matches. There many player who can replace him, Shreyas Iyer who is India’s vice-captain could be a strong option, given his composed yet aggressive batting approach of Tilak Varma due to his fierce and calm batting style.

Apart from him in form Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Ghaikwad are seen as reliable options, both having experience in pressure situations . The board is unlikely to consider Shubman Gill for the role, as his recent form in the format has not been convincing.
