Parasakhti Eyes Solo Pongal Roar as Jana Nayagan Steps Aside

The 1960's roar ......

Parasakhti stands tall as a period political drama rooted in 1960s socio-political movements.

The title translates to “Supreme Power,” carrying symbolic and political weight.

Sudha Kongara directed the film with Aakash Bhaskaran producing under Dawn Pictures.

The film stars Ravi Mohan, Sivakarthikeyan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela in lead roles.

It marks Sreeleela’s Tamil debut, adding fresh buzz to the ensemble.

The supporting cast includes Dec Ramnath, Basil Joseph, Guru

Somasundaram, Papri Ghosh, and Rana Daggubati.

Parasakhti has a confirmed runtime of 161 minutes.

The makers have locked 10 January 2026 as the official release date.

The trailer recently shattered records across Tamil cinema.

It crossed 40 million views within 24 hours.

The earlier record belonged to Jana Nayagan with 34.4 million views.

This milestone boosted expectations and strengthened the film’s market confidence.

However, a delay in the censor certificate raised questions about the release.

Interestingly, Jana Nayagan has already postponed its Pongal release.

This shift opens the door for Parasakhti to claim a solo festive window.

Industry chatter suggests the makers are confident about resolving the censor delay soon.

No official postponement announcement has surfaced so far.

If cleared on time, Parasakhti could enjoy an uncontested Pongal release.

A solo festive opening could amplify box office numbers significantly.
