
The New Zealand tour to India will begin on January 11. Featuring three One day international and five T20 International. The tour of New Zealand will run till January 31. The ODI series added significance as it marked the comeback of the senior players in the squad. While the T20 side looked to finalize combinations ahead of ICC T20 World Cup scheduling to begin on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka.
The fans are excited for the One day International as legendary players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are likely to make a return to the 50 over format after the South Africa series and Vijay Hazare Trophy. The eyes will be upon Ishan Kishan and Mohmmed Shami who are expected to make a comeback in the Indian Squad following their strong performances in domestic cricket. Indian vice-captain Shreyas Iyer’s return remains uncertain, as his selection depends on fitness clearance following his post-injury recovery. His final assessment is reportedly scheduled around January 5, which may impact his availability.
India’s ODI squad is expected to assemble in Vadodara on January 7. The opener match will be played on January 11, followed by the match on January 14 in Rajkot and January 18 in Indore.
The T20 squad has been finalized and will be led by Surya Kumar Yadav as it gears up for the T20 World Cup title defence.
The selection committee is going to finalize the squad, through an online meeting around January 3 or 4 to finalize the ODI squad for the home series.
New Zealand has already announced their ODI and T20 squad for the tour of India.
