Harshit Rana ruled out the T20 World Cup 2026, Mohammed Siraj comes as replacement

During India’s T20 World Cup warm up match against South Africa on Wednesday, Harshit Rana was injured. He pulled out of his run up twice in an over before holding his knee and leaving the field. During the match, he just bowled one over and gave away 16 runs. The incident happened during the warm up match against South Africa in Navi Mumbai on February 4, 2026.

India’s fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The BCCI has stated that Harshit Rana was assessed by a specialist and underwent scans, following which the medical team declared him unfit for the tournament. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav had said Rana was not looking good the day before the announcement. Mohammed Siraj comes in as his replacement in the squad.

India is missing his all rounder Washington Sundar. His availability is still questionable, but some reports say that he is expected to return in time for the tournament. Tilak, who was also ruled out due to injury, has made his return and featured in two warm up matches against South Africa and USA.

India is going to begin their T20 World Cup journey on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai against USA.

India’s updated squad: Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan/Sanju Samson (wicket keeper), Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey, Axar Patel, Rinku Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Sudeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj.
