For fans this time India vs Pakistan seems hard on field. Pakistan Government has declared that, Pakistan Team is not going to play against Team India in T20 World Cup 2026. International Cricket Council has warn, Pakistan this selective approach is not possible in in the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan Government stated that, “The Government of the Islamic republic of Pakistan brands approval to the Pakistan cricket team to participate in the ICC World Cup T20 2026, the Pakistani cricket team short note take the field in the match schedule on 15 February 2026 against India.” India and Pakistan since their partition, the both countries are in cold war due to several reasons and recently the Operation Sindoor and Pehlgam attack has created war like tensions between both the states again.
Both the countries since a decade has not played any Bilateral series they only appeared in international matches against each other. Rivalry among both the countries is loved by all over the world.
The ICC clarifies to the PC without selective participation in the T20 World Cup is not possible.

India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup: Loss for both India and Pakistan
According to reports, both boards stand to immediately lose around Rs 200 crore each in direct and indirect revenue if the match doesn’t happen. For India, that’s painful but manageable. For Pakistan, it’s existential math. The PCB receives 5.75% of total ICC revenue, roughly USD 34.51 million annually. That pipeline depends on compliance, reliability, and participation. A voluntary withdrawal – crucially – is not covered under force majeure.
BCCI vice president and Congress MP Rajeev Shukla said, “ICC has issued a big statement, they have spoken about sportsmanship. We completely agree with the ICC. BCCI won’t make any comments on it until we speak with the ICC.”
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor says, “It is pretty disgraceful that sport has been politicised in this way on both sides, frankly. I don’t think that Mustafizur (Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman) should have been denied his contract to play in Kolkata. It was most unfortunate. Intrusion of politics, I think the Bangladeshi reaction was an overreaction but it is also a reflection of the same and Pakistan is trying to show its solidarity with Bangladesh.
This whole thing is spiralling out of control. I think we need to really need to come to an understanding that sports, especially a sport like Cricket which means so much to all the people, should be a means of bringing us together at least on the playing field, rather than allowing this to go on like this. I honestly think this is now a wake up call for all concerned to contact each other on an emergency basis, the ICC could be the platform for it – just say, let’s call off this nonsense…You can’t go on like this forever.”
