The Nationwide Human Rights Fee (NHRC) has instructed social media platform X (previously Twitter) to take down a put up shared by Aam Aadmi Celebration (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. The put up in query reportedly featured youngsters taking part in political marketing campaign actions.
The NHRC, in a letter, revealed that it had taken suo motu cognisance of the problem, elevating objections to using youngsters in political campaigns. The Fee highlighted that this follow contravenes the rules established by the Election Fee of India (ECI).

NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo remarked, “The Fee has taken suo motu cognizance of the matter below Part 12(a) of the Safety of Human Rights Act, 1993. The participation of kids in political marketing campaign actions raises critical issues, because it violates the rules issued by the Election Fee of India”.
The NHRC has urged Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar to take motion by issuing clear directives to all political events, emphasising the necessity to chorus from involving youngsters in political actions.

In his letter to the CEC, Kanoongo acknowledged, “The Fee requests your good workplace to kindly take pressing corrective measures to handle the moment problem and on the similar time requests to kindly take into account the issuance of agency pointers to all of the Political Events to chorus from utilizing youngsters in any political actions”.
The letter was despatched following the sharing of a video by Kejriwal and Atishi, which depicted youngsters chanting “Abki baar, Kejriwal” as a part of the social gathering’s marketing campaign.
The NHRC’s intervention comes amid escalating tensions between AAP and BJP over alleged voter record manipulations in Delhi.
