Royal Challengers Bengaluru won there second title of WPL 2026, defeats Delhi Capital in final

Royal Challengers Bengaluru emerged as the black horse of the WPL, writing another memorable chapter in the Women’s Premier League after defeating Delhi Capitals in the final of 2026. The girls of RCB lifted their second trophy at Vadodara in a high-stakes clash that had quality cricket throughout. The final match delivered several nail-biting moments for Delhi Capitals and RCB fans.

After the toss, Royal Challengers won and chose to bowl first. In the first innings, the batters of Delhi Capitals took on every bowler, hitting shots to every corner of the ground. The Capitals turned the final into a show of controlled and smart batting from Jemimah Rodrigues, Laura Wolvaardt and Lizelle Lee. Batting first, Delhi laid a strong foundation and put the highest score of the season on the board, 203/4 in 20 overs.

When Royal Challengers came out to bat, they lost an early wicket. However, RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll pushed the loose deliveries for boundaries and kept rotating the strike. RCB played with calculated risks, making sure they had wickets in hand for the last few overs. Till the 15th over, Mandhana and Voll were hitting the bowlers freely, not letting the match slow down. The sudden fall of wickets gave Delhi Capitals a bit of hope, but in the final over, Radha Yadav’s two boundaries in succession helped RCB claim the cup.

Coming into the final, both teams had strong narratives. Delhi Capitals were playing their fourth WPL final and were hoping to finally turn consistency into a title, while Royal Challengers came in with confidence after a strong run in the knockouts. The packed crowd could feel the difference between Delhi’s past heartbreaks and RCB’s growing belief.

Smriti Mandhana, the captain of RCB, was named Player of the Match after scoring 87 runs off 41 balls. And also hold the orange cap of this season.

This win marked Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s second WPL title and once again showed their strength as a team.

As WPL 2026 comes to an end, the final reflected Royal Challengers’ growth and their ability to perform on the biggest stage, adding another trophy to their cabinet and strengthening their place in women’s cricket.
