India vs New Zealand: Series decider to be played in Indore after 2nd ODI

The decider of India vs New Zealand ODI series, will play at Indore on January 18, after New Zealand team’s 7 wicket win at Rajkot against team India. The decider will be crucial for the captain and the coach.

A century by KL Rahul will go in vain, in the second ODI match in Rajkot against New Zealand. The black caps has crushed the hosts by seven wicket, now the series is level at 1-1. Now, going into the last game in Indore on January 18, New Zealand are on the cusp of history. The New Zealand team is preparing them selves to write another record at Indian soil.

From the Indian perspective, skipper Shubman Gill is on the verge of an unwanted distinction. But he’s not the only one. Coach Gautam Gambhir also has a chance of facing double embarrassment. This is something both the men will want to avoid. After all, it’s not something to be proud of.

New Zealand have never won an ODI series on Indian soil. They now have full shot and potential to do so. Indian skipper will not want that to happen. Should India lose in Indore and surrender the series, Gill shall have the dubious distinction of being the first Indian skipper to lose an ODI series vs New Zealand on home soil in just first ODI series under his captaincy – no caps wanted it to be happen. The eyes will be upon the captain – from leadership to the batting skills. The decider will bring a bucket full comments to the pavilion for Shubman Gill.

For Gambhir, a series defeat will bring many trollers and former player to doubt the viewpoint of Indian head coach. This is because he was also the coach in 2024 when New Zealand won their first Test series in India. Black caps crushed Men’s in blue by whitewashing the series 3-0. If New Zealand win on January 18, Gambhir will have the unwanted record of being the coach under whom India lost their first-ever Test and ODI series to New Zealand in their own backyard. That would not look good on one’s record. He cannot undo the Test series defeat but he will hope that India can prevent the ODI series loss.

The eyes will find again the senior batter on the field, number 18 and 45. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma the players who’s wickets will decide the faith of the India. Whereas in the black jersey Daryl Mitchell and Devon Conway are the crucial players.

The decider will going to bring nail biting, movements for the cricket fans.
