Indian Cricket fans are excited to for New Zealand series as Indian senior batters are appearing in Indian jersey again. During the tour, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill can be seen to do opening for India again. Rohit Sharma holds a great record of having 11,516 runs in 279 innings, with an average of 49.21. For number 3, Virat Kohli will anchor the Indian Team middle order. Last time when Virat appeared in ODI he scored two hundreds and one half century.

Record alert for Virat Kohli !

There’s a record in sight for Virat Kohli. He is close to achieving another milestone in international cricket. He is close to surpasse Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara for the most runs scored in international cricket. Sangakkara ended his career with 28,016 runs in 648 innings, and Kohli is climbing the ranks, aiming to pass him soon. Kohli needs just 25 runs to reach the 28,000-run mark and requires 42 runs to eclipse Sangakkara’s total. Scoring 42 runs will set that record. If Kohli scores 443 runs in this ODI series, he will become one of the few players in cricket history to reach 15,000 ODI runs. This milestone highlights his exceptional talent and consistent performance.

Indian Team’s vice-captain Shreyas Iyer can be seen batting at number four. He is making a comeback after 72 days, after getting spleen injury while taking a catch in India’s tour to Australia. Shreyas Iyer appeared in Mumbai Jersey just before New Zealand series, he looks comfortable and in a dangerous form. But still his selection of playing 11, matters on his fitness clearance.

On number 5, Kl Rahul is mostly likely to appear. Indian team has an option of another wicket keeper batsman which is Rishabh pant, last time he got featured in an ODI match, during India’s tour of Sri Lanka 2024. On number 6 and 7 Washington Sundar or Ravindra Jadeja can be seen, but both batters are unable to hit maximums.

Apart from Jadeja and Sundar Spinner Kuldeep Yadav is also available in the squad. We feel that Kuldeep Yadav can be seen playing in all three ODI matches. In last series against South Africa Kuldeep picked up nine wickets in three matches. Kuldeep can be a crucial aspect for India’s bowling as with the his left arm leg spinning he can create impact on New Zealand’s batters.

India’s pace attack features Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Prasidh Krishna. Siraj is the leading fast bowler in ODIs and are able to create a big impact with the new ball. Harshit Rana has shown he can take wicket in for team India in powerplay, while Arshdeep Singh’s five-wicket haul in the previous series adds to his selection appeal. There may be rotation among the pacers based on the conditions and their workloads.
