According to the reports of Cricbuzz, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) demanded they want India to participate India tri-lateral series. No official confirmation has comes from Board of Control for Cricket in Indian (BCCI), the development has sparked many fresh discussion among cricket circles as well as fans.
The demand comes as Pakistan Government stated that, βThe Government of the Islamic republic of Pakistan brands approval to the Pakistan cricket team to participate in the ICC World Cup T20 2026, the Pakistani cricket team short note take the field in the match schedule on 15 February 2026 against India.β India and Pakistan since their partition, the both countries are in cold war due to several reasons and recently the Operation Sindoor and Pehlgam attack has created war like tensions between both the states again.
The proposal of tri-series is reportedly seen as a way of bring back the bilateral action back between Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. Pakistan and India has not appear in any bilateral series since a decade due to on going tension among both the countries. Bangladesh is believed to be a strategic move, making the series more feasible and neutral in nature.
For both the boards, PCB and BCB the presence of India would significantly boost the commercial value, viewership and overall global attention. India’s participation will going to bring heavy revenue, as rivalry among both the countries was loved and enjoyed by every cricket circle around the world. From a cricketing perspective, such series is going to add much more value to both the boards as well as to ICC tournaments.
However, source suggest that BCCI had not takes any clear stand at this matter. The decision of the India government is going to play a important role. Until then, the speculation of the tri-series is going to catch the attention of fans across the subcontinent.
