Sony TV’s real knowledge-based show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati‘ is just a few days away from going on air. The show will be hosted by veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, who has recently recovered from the COVID-19. Amitabh has been shooting for the show for quite some time and has been updating his fans about the safety precautions that were taken on the sets during the shoot.
Recently, the date from which the show will go on air was revealed which is September 28 on Sony TV and it will be telecasted from Monday to Friday at 9 pm. However, due to the pandemic situation and for the safety of every being, the show has been shot with some new concepts. Some old features of the show have now been altered by the makers to keep in mind the safety of everybody.
As per media reports, Sujata Sanghamitra, showrunner and creative producer of the show, has shared details about the new concept in KBC 12. The first thing she revealed was that the auditions this time were taken from people’s respective homes. Usually, they used to go to different cities for auditions but this time they auditioned digitally, conducted GK exams, and interacted with the potential contestants.
Revealing further, she said, that there will be no live audience this time due to the pandemic situation and other reality shows like The Kapil Sharma Show have also done away with it. Adding more, she talked about the audience poll and said that as there’s no audience, the participant’s lifeline ‘audience poll’ had to be replaced. She said, “we do not have a live audience this time. So one of our lifelines, the Audience Poll, is not there anymore. This is the first time in 20 years that we do not have this lifeline.”
She revealed further that instead they have ‘Video a Friend’, which is again a digital connection and it will help the contestant to seek help from their friends from their home. Speaking about the big change in the game, Sujata informed that earlier 10 contestants used to play the ‘Fastest-Finger-First’ round but now they have decreased it to 8 because they had to keep social distancing norms in mind and needed to space out the seats.
Keeping in mind the social distancing norm, the showrunner and creative producer also revealed that the distance between the hot seat and Amitabh Bachchan has also been increased. This season’ the contestants have also shot their introduction videos from their home as the digital team of the show explained to the contestants how to shoot it and they did it.
