Vivek Oberoi’s brother-in-law Aditya Alva named in Sandalwood Drug Scandal

In the recent Sandalwood Drug Scandal, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi's brother-in-law Aditya Alva has been named. Along with him 11 more names have been booked by the CCB.

The use and dealing of drugs in the entertainment industry are coming out wide in public. On Saturday, police said that Kannada film actress Ragini Dwivedi was booked along with 11 others for their alleged use of banned drugs in the Sandalwood industry in Karnataka by the Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB).

This happened after a few days of reports about ‘drug abuse’ and celebrities started being spoken about. It is reported that amongst the 12 who were booked by the CCB on Saturday, one of them is Vivek Oberoi‘s brother-in-law Aditya Alva who has been booked by the agency.

Aditya’s name has come out as a shock to many and it is reported that Aditya is a popular face in the party circles. He has not been taken under custody yet and the agency is looking out for him, media reports suggested. The reports further shared that there’s no certainty whether he will be arrested or not.

City joint commissioner of police Sandeep Patil told the reporters that they have filed a suo motu FIR at the Cottonpet police station in the city against Ragini and others, including drug peddlers Shivaprakash, Ravi Shankar, Rahul Shetty, and party planner Viren Khanna for their drug links in the Kannada film industry.

As per the reports, the FIR is filed against the 12 who were accused is under several sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and 120b of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for purchase, possession, distribution, and consumption of banned drugs at rave parties and late-night gatherings in the city.

In the latest developments, it is reported that the anti-narcotics wing of the CCB has arrested 3 more drug peddlers.
