In a shocking turn of events,Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide by hanging himself on Sunday at his residence in Mumbai. The police have started an investigation regarding the death of 34-year-old actor.
According to Mumbai police sources, the actor was reportedly suffering from depression as the cops have found medical papers and anti-depressant pills from his house. “Police will be contacting Rajput’s doctor and record his statement to know what type of medicines he was taking and what problem he was facing,” they said.
As per the initial investigation, no suicide note was found from the actor’s house and no other suspicious factor has come out so far. He last spoke to a friend from Bollywood, the sources said. However, the timing of the call has not been disclosed by the police yet.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s maternal uncle has alleged that the actor has been murdered and appealed for a CBI probe into the incident from the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi, ETV Bharat reported.
“This is a case of murder. The youth of Bihar and the Rajput Mahasabha demands a CBI enquiry into the incident. We demand a CBI enquiry from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi into the murder,” ETV Bharat quoted Sushant Singh Rajput’s maternal uncle RC Singh as saying.
Moreover, Sushant’s elder sister Ritu, who is married to Haryana cadre IPS officer Om Prakash Singh, apparently suspects foul play and is demanding a stringent investigation into her brother’s suicide.
According to an entertainment news portal, Ritu has made it clear that she wants to know who or what put Sushant under so much duress that the popular Bollywood actor committed suicide. And she does not want the Mumbai Police to come under any pressure in its probe.
TSushant’s brother-in-law Om Prakash Singh, who is an Additional Director General of Police in Haryana and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD), is reportedly on his way to Mumbai from Chandigarh. It is believed that he wants Sushant’s postmortem to be put on hold until he reaches.
