The case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death took a new turn after Sushant’s father KK Singh lodged an FIR against 4 people including actress Rhea Chakraborty in Patna. Rhea Chakraborty has now stated in the Supreme Court that Sushant’s father, using his ‘influence’, has filed a case of abetment to suicide in Patna.
On Wednesday, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of Rhea, saying that Sushant’s father, using his influence, has illegally dragged her into the case and pleaded that the FIR be transferred from Patna to Mumbai. The petition said, “The petitioner is an actress who has been acting since 2012. In this case, Krishna Kishore Singh, the father of the deceased has falsely implicated the petitioner in this case on the basis of strange facts and circumstances.”
Rhea has admitted in her petition that she was in a live-in relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput and was deeply saddened by Sushant’s death. It has also been mentioned that she and her family are getting threats of rape and death. Rhea has also lodged a complaint with the Santa Cruz Police Station for these threats. Rhea has stated that she was in a live-in relationship with Sushant for more than a year and temporarily shifted to her home in Mumbai on 8 June 2020.
In her petition, Rhea Chakraborty said, ‘For some time, the deceased was suffering from depression and taking medicines for it. On 14 June 2020, he committed suicide by hanging himself at his home. The Bandra police are also investigating the reasons because of which Sushant took such a big step”
Rhea has said that she was called by the police for questioning and she has recorded her statements under section 175 of the CrPC. The Mumbai Police are still investigating the case and some forensic reports are still awaited.
