The latest development in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case suggests that the late actor’s househelp Dipesh Sawant who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection to the ongoing drug case has filed a complaint against the agency and has demanded Rs.10 Lakh as compensation.
According to a report in India Today, Dipesh Sawant filed a writ petition before the Bombay High Court against the NCB alleging that he was produced before the magistrate court on September 6, after 36 hours of his arrest. Also, contradicting the NCB records which states that Dipesh was arrested on September 5, the househelp mentioned in the petition that he was arrested on September 4.
Dipesh also claimed that NCB broke the law by not producing him before the magistrate court within 24 hours of his arrest, and hence demanded Rs. 10 lakh as compensation.
As per the report, the case has been adjourned till November 6 and the division bench of Justice SS Shinde and Justice MS Karnik will hear the case. On behalf of Dipesh, advocates Rajendra Rathod and Aamir Koradia filed the petition, and Advocate Rathod also told the portal that two hearings have happened in the court and the agency has asked for more time to reply.
