A week ago, an eyewitness claimed that Rhea Chakraborty said ‘Sorry Babu’ after looking at Sushant Singh Rajput‘s mortal remains. The eyewitness who took Rhea Chakraborty inside the mortuary on June 15 is Surjeet Singh Rathore, and he accompanied Rhea to the mortuary to see Sushant for the last time.
Surjeet Singh Rathore revealed that as soon as Rhea saw Sushant’s face at Cooper hospital, she said, ‘Sorry babu’. Now in an interview with India Today, the actress talked about why she said ‘Sorry Babu’ and also what happened on June 14.
She recounted that on June 14, around 2 pm she got a call from her friend, she didn’t know that Rhea is not with Sushant at his home, about the rumors that were happening of his death and she asked Rhea to tell Sushant to clear out the rumors. “Then after 10-15mins, there was a clarification of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death,” Rhea told the portal.

Still struggling to face my emotions.. an irreparable numbness in my heart . You are the one who made me believe in love, the power of it . You taught me how a simple mathematical equation can decipher the meaning of life and I promise you that I learnt from you every day. I will never come to terms with you not being here anymore. I know you’re in a much more peaceful place now. The moon, the stars, the galaxies would’ve welcomed “the greatest physicist “with open arms . Full of empathy and joy, you could lighten up a shooting star – now, you are one . I will wait for you my shooting star and make a wish to bring you back to me. You were everything a beautiful person could be, the greatest wonder that the world has seen . My words are incapable of expressing the love we have and I guess you truly meant it when you said it is beyond both of us. You loved everything with an open heart, and now you’ve shown me that our love is indeed exponential. Be in peace Sushi. 30 days of losing you but a lifetime of loving you…. Eternally connected To infinity and beyond
Asking further about if she went to Sushant’s residence after the news of his death broke out, Rhea said, “No, I didn’t go to his place. I broke down, I was completely shocked and mujhe samajh nahi aa raha tha aisa kaise ho sakta hai. Then, I was told that I was not included in funeral list and that his family doesn’t want me there.”
She further added that she was all ready to go to the funeral but she got to know that she’s included not in the funeral list. Her friends advised her not to go as Sushant’s family doesn’t want her there and might insult her. But one of her friends suggested her to visit and see Sushant’s mortal remains for the last time as it will give her closure.
Talking about her ‘Sorry Babu’ comment, the actress said, “Yes, what else is someone supposed to say after someone has lost their life? I am sorry you have lost your life. I am sorry that your death has been made into a joke. I am sorry that your last memory is not of your good work, intelligence or your charity. That is also misconstrued. Aur kya bolenge?”
Rhea also mentioned that she got to see Sushant’s mortal remains only for 3-4 seconds as the body was on the way to the van.
