Sonakshi Sinha Takes a Dig at Kangana Ranaut amid Ongoing Nepotism Debate

The much-heated debate which started just after Sushant Singh Rajput left for his heavenly abode, seems never-ending now. Kangana Ranaut attacked many star kids and celebrities from the industry for pushing nepotism and groups in the industry. The insider vs. outsider debate also caught fire during the same days.

Right after Kangana targeted star kids, Sonakshi Sinha left Twitter just like many other Bollywood actors to avoid the negativity. Recently, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Sonakshi opened up about nepotism, which made her quit social media and mental health along with many other topics.

On being asked about if she’s planning to come back on Twitter after a 2 months break, she said, “No. I’m actually happier because I have one less social media account to manage.” Sonakshi also talked about the hard work star kids put in to make their careers. According to her, its the audience who makes or breaks the career of an actor, and not any filmy background.

“Being related to a film family can help in that first meeting or that first audition or that first film. But, after that, what? This whole hullabaloo about, ‘Oh, somebody can make or break someone’, I’m sorry, nobody can make or break anyone except for the audience. We’re all here today because our audience has accepted us to some extent whether it’s an insider or an outsider. We respect that. If the audience doesn’t accept a person, his career won’t go anywhere. So, it’s sad to attack star kids… we work hard and put in as much hard work as anybody else,” stated Sonakshi on the insider vs. outsider debate.

Taking a dig at Kangana, Sonakshi said, “I find it so amusing that this word nepotism has been introduced and sensationalized by a person whose sister is managing their work. And I don’t think I want to give it that much more importance.” Sonakshi recounted that her father never made a phone call to any producer or director to cast her in their film.

She shared how she was offered Dabangg and since then only she has been maintaining her work ethics and punctuality to keep getting more work and not her family name. Her audience loves her for her performance and not from the family background she comes, added Sonakshi.
