In the case related to Fake Followers Racket, Bollywood’s famous singer and rapper Badshah was called for interrogation on Friday. He had been accused of buying fake followers and views on Instagram. On Friday, he reached Mumbai’s crime branch for the investigation.
It is reported that after a 10-hours long interrogation Badshah admitted to paying out over Rs. 75 lakh for promoting his music album with fake likes and followers.
According to a News channel, a source quoted that Badshah was interrogated today as well and is likely to be summoned again on Sunday for parts of the investigation. The Mumbai Police has recorded the statement of more than 20 stars in this case.
Badshah has also issued his official statement on reports of paying Rs.75 lakh for fake followers and likes. He said, “Following the summons, I have spoken to the Mumbai Police. I have aided the officials in their investigation by cooperating and carrying out the due diligence on my part. I’ve categorically denied all the allegations leveled against me and made it clear that I was never involved in such practices, nor do I condone them.”

The investigation procedure is being executed by the law and I have complete faith in the authorities, who are handling this matter. I’d like to thank all those who have conveyed their concern to me. It means a lot to me,” he further added.
In the interrogation, many big personalities including Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone were expected to be questioned by Mumbai Police. However, none of these have been questioned yet. Significantly, in this case, about 100 film stars are on the radar of the police.
Singer Bhoomi Trivedi had filed a case with the Mumbai Police for fake social media followers.
