The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which is currently investigating the Bollywood drug racket, witnessed a lot of drama on Thursday. On Wednesday, NCB issued summons to Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and Simone Khambata.
On Thursday, Simone and Rakul Preet were expected to reach the NCB guesthouse for interrogation. Simone reached for questioning at around 9:30 am, while Rakul Preet Singh‘s team said that the actress had not received any summons and therefore she could not reach for questioning.
Rakulpreet Singh has already arrived in Mumbai from Hyderabad. The NCB says summon have already been sent to the actress. When asked about this to NCB, the officers who are currently probing the case, said that Rakul Preet Singh is making excuses to not join the drug probe.
According to NCB, they tried contacting Rakul Preet on Wednesday, September 23 but could not, after which they sent her the summon digitally through the mail. A senior NCB official KPS Malhotra said, “Her summon was issued and she was contacted through various platforms including phone call but she was not available. There has been no response so far from her. It’s just an excuse… She will not join probe today”.
Rakul Preet’s team released a statement on behalf of her and said that she has not received any summons yet. The NCB official also said that the actor will be summoned again and if she again denies it, it will create trouble for the actress as the agency may issue a non-bailable warrant.
