The Narcotics Control Bureau is probing the ongoing drug case linked to actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death. The agency has interrogated several people in the case so far. Recently, top Bollywood actresses were questioned by the NCB for their alleged link to the drug nexus of the industry.
The actresses who were grilled by the NCB were Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh. These actresses were served the summons on Wednesday, while Rakul appeared before the NCB on Friday and others appeared on Saturday.
The actresses in their statements denied consuming drugs and even voluntarily surrendered their phones to corroborate their statements. However, reports were stating that the NCB has given a clean chit to Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, and Shraddha Kapoor.
Responding to these reports, the NCB has allegedly denied such reports which are stating that these actresses have got a clean chit from the agency. According to the India TV report quoting IANS, the NCB has stated that such reports are ‘devoid’ of truth and facts.
As per the report, the NCB official stated, “The news article mentioning that the drugs law enforcement agency giving a clean chit to those examined by NCB is devoid of truth and facts.”
Along with these actresses, Deepika’s manager Karishma Prakash and designer Simone Khambatta have also been grilled by the NCB for their alleged involvement in the drug probe.
The drug angle initially emerged from Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case investigation, when the Enforcement Directorate had found evidence of drugs from Rhea Chakraborty‘s WhatsApp chats. The actor was found dead on June 14 in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai.
