On September 19, actress Payal Ghosh made allegations against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for sexually harassing her in the year 2014. She accused the filmmaker of forcing himself on her and alleged that Anurag told her about actresses who have been in physical relationship with him. Payal mentioned actresses like Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadha, and Mahie Gill in an interview with a Telugu News channel.
Reacting to which, actress Huma Qureshi took it to Twitter and penned down a note giving her final response to the controversy. In the note, she wrote, “Anurag and I last worked together in 2012-2013 and he is a dear friend and an extremely talented director. In my personal experience and to my knowledge he has neither misbehaved with me or anyone else.”

She continued saying that anyone who claims to be abused must report it to the authorities, the police and the judiciary. She wrote, “I chose not to comment till now because I don’t believe in social media fights and media trails. I feel really angry not just for myself but also every woman whose years of hard work and struggle gets reduced to such baseless conjecture and allegations in their workplace. Please let’s refrain from this narrative.”
She mentioned that it is a joint responsibility of women and men both to carefully project the sanctity of #MeToo. She concluded the note by saying that it is her final response and requested not to approach her for any more statements on this matter.
