Bombay HC Defers Rhea Chakraborty’s Bail Plea till September 29

Bollywood actress and prime accused in the SSR's case, Rhea Chakraborty's bail plea in the Bombay High Court was heard today. the court has deffered the plea till September 29.

Rhea Chakraborty was grilled by the Narcotics Control Bureau for 3 days in a row and after which she was arrested by the agency on September 8. However, before she was sent to the judicial custody of the NCB, the actress filed a bail plea in the court but her plea got rejected by the court via video conferencing.

Rhea had again filed a bail plea in the special court but that too got rejected. Rhea’s judicial custody was till September 22, but the NCB requested the court to extend her judicial custody along with her brother Showik, and others arrested in the drug case.

On September 22, the court extended Rhea’s judicial custody along with others and sent her back to the Byculla jail till October 6. Rhea’s legal team on her behalf had filed the bail plea in Bombay High Court on the same day, and its hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, but due to heavy rains in Mumbai, her hearing of the plea was rescheduled to today September 24.

As per reports, Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea was heard today by the Bombay High Court. The court has deferred the actress’ bail plea till September 29 and Rhea will have to remain in the Byculla jail till she gets her bail plea approved by the court on September 29.

Rhea had applied for bail again and again since the time she has been arrested but the actress was not granted bail even once.
